There are huge debates on economic systems currently utilized in our world today.  Even within our own nation there is a debate on the continued usefulness of capitalism and the increasing popularity of socialism.

But there are psychological constructs at work beyond a sense of fairness and utility in economic systems.  It is not just about fair compensation for labor or the greed of American corporations.

Ethical Issues and Psychologists

Like many other professions and occupations, psychologist face a host of issues about which they may have ethical concerns.  Some have easy solutions, others do not.  Your task will be to determine the answers to several questions that are concerned with the ethics in a therapy situation.  Go to the following website, choose one of the 35 dilemmas and answer the questions that follow the dilemma.

Ethical Principles of Psychologists and Code of Conduct

Every occupation and endeavor has a unique set of rules or code of conduct which practitioners are required to follow.  Psychology is no different.

Glance through the following website and become familiar with the ethics in different situations.  (For example:  professional behavior, patient confidentiality, law, etc.)  You will use these guidelines to answer some questions concerning a psychologist's dilemma for your final.  Feel free to take notes.
