Happiness vs Expectations

Many people in younger generations (younger than Mr. Stauffer's) are finding their reality not meeting their expectations.  Many young people want what their parents have but want it way sooner their parents got it.

Read the following article and answer the questions:

Mindfulness

The subject of mindfulness (the basic human ability to be fully present, aware of where we are and what we’re doing, and not overly reactive or overwhelmed by what’s going on around us) can be controversial.  Some believe it is a gateway to personal happiness while others see it as paying attention to far too many things at once.

Read the ONE of the following articles and answer the questions.

Gratitude

Gratitude is becoming a new field in mental health and well-being.  This can mean different things to different people.  Science and philosophy are both involved in this recently studied aspect of mental health.

There are huge debates on economic systems currently utilized in our world today.  Even within our own nation there is a debate on the continued usefulness of capitalism and the increasing popularity of socialism.

But there are psychological constructs at work beyond a sense of fairness and utility in economic systems.  It is not just about fair compensation for labor or the greed of American corporations.
